Firstly, you've moved a long way since your first OGR - there's not been much visible work on your blog, which is an issue, but your OGR 2 is suggestive you've been reflecting much more effectively on the specific characteristics of your artist in terms of lighting, translucency and colour - but not in terms of shape, which is odd. I don't quite understand the concept art (though unfinished) you're taking forward, as I'm not sure what I'm looking at. I prefer you're other thumbnails - indeed the one you've highlighted as your favourite; that said, I don't really understand where all the squares and hard angular elements are coming from - certainly not from Lalique or Art Nouveau in general terms. I'm wondering if your concerns re. drawing in perspective are inhibiting you from attempting a more curvaceous approach?
So - things I like; that shimmering, milky, pearlescent qualities of the best of your thumbnails; I like the way you've moved away from all those 'off-the-peg' magic crystals and manga-eyed statures; I like the sense of scale you're pushing in your thumbnails and the 'emerald city' feel you've created. That said, I urge you to look again at the hallmark forms and shapes of your artist and his time period and fold that knowledge back into your big, shimmering city.
I also want to see much more productivity and proactive use of your blog as a discussion board around the development of your work. Onwards, Lewis - you're doing okay, but I want more oomph from you - drive this project with gusto!
